How we study, verify, and correct

An editorial policy for readers who want to check our work.

We distinguish four kinds of statements: what the biblical text says, what language and historical evidence suggest, how religious traditions interpret it, and what one lay reader personally takes from it.

Faithful to the author's meaning, natural in your language

The Korean manuscript supplied by the author determines the study's interpretation, emphasis, questions and conclusions. We do not change those claims to match a particular country's church tradition.

Word choice, grammar and sentence rhythm may change so that readers can understand the same meaning naturally. Explanations are not an invitation to invent different theology, certainty or personal testimony.

Earlier local-language adaptations are being reviewed for agreement with the source. If wording misrepresents the author, it should be corrected, not defended as a local custom.

Sources and limits

We consult biblical passages, Hebrew or Greek terms when they materially matter, and reputable translation notes and commentaries. Links are provided so readers can investigate. An external link is not a claim that its author agrees with everything here.

When scholarly arguments differ, we explain the relevant alternatives and name uncertainty. Articles may be updated as the author's study continues.

Personal reflections

A personal testimony is never generated or attributed to the author unless they actually supplied it. Reflection questions are clearly marked as prompts rather than lived experiences. Neither kind of content represents an official Presbyterian denominational position.

Bible translation rights

Bible translations have different copyright and usage rules. We ordinarily link to the passage and write original commentary rather than reproducing whole copyrighted chapters. Biblical references are not an endorsement of any commercial Bible provider.

Advertising and corrections

The site may seek advertising support in the future, but advertising is not yet displayed. Any future paid relationships will be disclosed. We welcome documented corrections once a public contact channel has been configured.
